Hi, my name is Joely! My friends have called me Jelly ever since childhood as "Joely" (pronounced: Joh-Eh-Lee) was too hard for them to pronounce at the time. I had known since then that I would use the nickname for my future bakery. It was written in the starsfrosting: Jelly is sweet and I make sweets. Jelly’s Sweets just made sense!
I'd always enjoyed baking, but never imagined I could turn it into a career. With a professional background in Baking and Pastry Arts, and internships at several Chicago bakeries under my belt, I joined the super talented team at Magnolia Bakery, where I spent over a decade designing custom wedding cakes, testing recipes for cookbooks, and traveling the world to train new bakers and cake decorators. I’ve also appeared on camera, where I've introduced viewers to new confections and talked through the creative process behind each one. In addition to my day job, I also taught an Advanced Cake Decorating class at Triton College.
I'm so grateful for all of these experiences as well as the support from loved ones, who've believed in me since day one. They've all helped shape me into the person I am today as I take the next step in my career as Founder of Jelly's Sweets.
Thank you for stopping by and reading my story. I hope to create some amazing sweets for you soon!
